Curly Flat Chardonnay 2013 750ml

APPEARANCE
Pale golden straw.

BOUQUET
A complex and aromatic nose that is at once mineral, yet creamy. A myriad of citrus & stone fruits ranging from lemon, lime, white peach, nectarine and apricots. Integrated French oak with nougat like lees character offers plenty of spice and support.

PALATE
With initially rich weight, the nose transfers seamlessly to the palate creating a platform for which the glowing acidity to shine through to a long lingering finish. A great sense of balance effortlessly pervades throughout.

CELLARING SUGGESTIONS
It speaks of a vineyard and winery working together in symmetry as its as elegant as it is rich, textured as it is long on the palate. While approachable now, this is undoubtedly one for the cellar where it will comfortably age over the next 10+ years.

"And now we must enter the realm of extreme deliciousness. So this wine insists. Oak, fruit, zing, swing. Lime, pears dripping with juice, cream, peach. Full and bold, but ever-so-lengthy. Preserved lemons. Lactose. It goes on. In a mesmerising way." 96 points

"Whole bunch-pressed, fermented in French oak (52% new), 18 months maturation, 20% mlf. Bright, light straw-green; in the typically tightly wound Curly Flat style: very, very long and well-balanced, fruit - not oak - in the driver's seat. The attention to detail is awesome, more than almost any other Australian chardonnay." 96 Points - Drink to 2028 (Rated as exceptional value)
