A different expression of Curly Flat Pinot Noir. Inspired by Domaine Dujac who employ high levels of whole bunch along with high levels of new oak.

Bouquet
Ethereal briary and undergrowth stem/spice characters charge the glass with an alluring perfume, leading the senses towards the powerful earthen, dark fruit core. Although 100% new oak is employed its impact is relegated to the background into a supportive role by force of fruit.

Palate
An initially powerful fruit wave courses the palate, riding on a raft of firming tannins which provide for great tension against the energetic acid line. Earth, charcuterie and dark chocolate surround black fruits to leave a long, textural finish that laps the shores of the palate memory.

Cellaring
The Curly’s robust structure more than suggests that many years lay ahead for this inaugural release. Whilst drinking well now expect an ideal drinking window around 2020-2025.

  • Alcohol: 14.2%
  • Closure: Screw cap
  • Maturation: 22 months in 100% French oak (100% new).

How is this drinking now?
Medium red brick hues, harmony of maturing plum fruits with Christmas spice and forest floor complexity.  Sweet fronted palate meets a plush and savoury mid and back palate, shaped by silky tannins and gentle, flowing acidity. Beautifully mature. Drink 2020-2025.
