The first bottling of the Central Pinot Noir was in 2018.

Alongside its Western counterpart, fractions of these distinct blocks were bottled separately to highlight their striking contrasts as well as their role in the main Estate blend.  The central block with its more northerly aspect and 4-5 million-year-old deep red volcanic soils, contributes both aromatics, both red and black fruits in a more savoury frame along with more robust yet detailed tannin to the Curly Flat blend.

The central block also is home to our oldest vines, planted in 1992 consists of 100% MV6 clone Pinot Noir. See below for where the Central block is located in the vineyard and below further for more technical details on the 2020 Curly Flat Central Pinot Noir.
