Each year we strive to deliver a Gris that explores the potential of this variety. Our cool climate instils each release with minerality and natural acid backbone, providing for a wine with true character.
Our 2024 Pinot Gris consists of two separate batches representing two distinct approaches. The first batch, representing 90% of the blend, was whole bunch pressed, and settled in tank for 24 hours before racking the cloudy juice to neutral French oak for indigenous fermentation. The remaining amount remained as intact whole bunches that were left undisturbed for five weeks under carbonic conditions. After that time, we then pressed this parcel into tank to conclude fermenting the last several grams of sugar. Once dry, this parcel was then again racked to neutral French oak. With a total of 5 months of maturation on lees, these parcels were blended, lightly filtered, and bottled.
A charming and textural white, the 2024 Pinot Gris showcases ripe fruit and polished winemaking, wrapped in the sunny character of the vintage. Pale lemon with a touch of gold, it opens with a floral, fruit-forward nose of citrus blossom, quince, green and red apple, and white nectarine. Subtle layers of pastry, chalk, and yeast lend complexity, while notes of lemon rind and buttery hints from malolactic fermentation weave through the aromatics. On the palate, it’s juicy, rounded, and vibrant, balancing stone fruit richness with a mineral spine and refreshing citrus drive. The finish is long and warm, with a gentle oak presence and a compelling urge to return for another sip.
Summary:
Juicy, floral, and textured, this Pinot Gris offers stone fruit, citrus zest, and a hint of pastry charm—vibrant and mouthwatering with a mineral lift.
Pairing: Serve with seafood pasta, roast chicken with lemon, or a creamy goat cheese salad.
Cellaring: Best enjoyed fresh, though it will hold well through 2026.
