“Deepish dark red colour with a tint of purple and a rich spicy, ‘forest floor’ and dark-cherry bouquet, subtly tinged with char-oak. The wine is full-bodied and strongly built, with voluminous flavour, serious tannin structure and plenty of grip. An impressive pinot of impressive weight, flesh and density, which promises to age superbly.”

“This is a watershed for this producer with such well-assembled complexity, well-guarded purity and the kind of bright, vibrant tannin that is rarely seen outside Burgundy. Intense aromas of blood orange, pomegranate, red cherry, boldly spicy oak and a sapid, reductive edge. Lot of energy here. The palate has rich red and dark-cherry flavor with crisply defined tannins that carry long and refreshed into the finish with assertive acidity. Crunchy red-fruit finish. Give this a little more time to settle.”

“Entices immediately with heady aromas: all spiced cherries, pips, warm earth, autumnal leaves and borage. But the palate is the clincher. Glossy yet fine tannins, graceful, lithe and long. Lovely wine.”
